World Oceans Day at Esquimalt Gorge Park

Join World Fisheries Trust and Esquimalt Parks and Recreation in celebrating World Oceans Day. This year's theme is "Youth - the Next Wave for Change."

When: Sunday June 3rd, 12:00 noon to 3:30pm

The Ocean Project, an international network of over 1,000 aquaria, zoos, museums and conservation organizations including World Fisheries Trust, promotes and coordinates activities worldwide with a special focus on engaging youth in helping to conserve and protect the world's oceans.

Family friendly activities will include:

  • Seaquaria touch tanks filled with local marine life

  • Interactive 3D model of the Gorge Waterway

  • Face painting

  • Marine themed crafts

  • Canoe rides on the Gorge

  • Scavenger hunt

  • Interpretive walks

  • Educational displays

  • Live music

  • Food

  • Esquimalt Centennial 2012 information booth

This event is FREE, but donations to help operate the Nature House at Esquimalt Gorge Park are welcome!
