Kick-off Event Officially Launches Centennial Celebrations

The Esquimalt Centennial kick-off event has set the tone for 2012: fun, festive and fantastic. Residents came out by the hundreds to enjoy music, kick-off speeches, the fire hall open house with demonstrations, the Township's 99th birthday cake, the Lion's superb hot dog barbecue, Esquimalt Parks and Recreation Fun Zone for the kids, and informative community displays.

Thanks to our on-site sponsors Country Grocer and Brown's the Florist for making this a special day. Thanks also to our volunteers, Township staff members, the Lion's Club, Buccaneer Days Committee, musicians and entertainers, fire department, and community organizations for coming together to make it all happen. And finally, thanks to everyone for joining us at Town Square.
